身影 Traces
这个系列的作品达到了我对于一个好公共艺术装置的评判标准:人们会与作品产生一种奇妙的连接。
我选择了三个场景去见证路过的人是否愿意停下他们的脚步,来在我的作品上以各种形式留下他们的印记。
This is a series of works that met my own standards on a qualified art installation in public space:
if people can have the impulse – feeling attached to the work.
I chose three different scenes to see if passerby will leave their marks in any kind.

This is a shopping area with a gallery, so people around here are expecting to see an artwork in this public place – but there hasn’t been anything new for a long time. I put soft clay on a picture frame, without pulling the isolation bets out, and a ‘welcome touch’ sign. It did attract people’s attention: kids, young teens, adults, parents, and grandparents.
(然后保安让我麻溜把东西收了,很抱歉添麻烦了 Then security guy told me to leave, I feel guilty on disturb the social order)

I made a shelf by paper box to put bubble guns and a ‘play area’ sign to indicate it is welcome to play with. I personally believe the bubble they leave, the figure when they play with each other holding bubble guns, and the empty shelf are the marks they left here.
