Penguin, Shrimp, Surrogacy
This project is a personal interpretation based on the food chain and the processes and cases within the surrogacy industry. It presents a scenario in which a penguin seeks a shrimp as its surrogate mother, creating an unexpected
imaginary situation that invites contemplation. This metaphorical exploration challenges prevailing
social norms and encourages a reevaluation of the perspectives embedded within societal constructs.

身影 Traces
This is a series of works that met my own standards on a qualified art installation in public space:
if people can have the impulse – feeling attached to the work.
I chose three different scenes to see if passerby will leave their marks in any kind.

Three different scenes and three types of potential audiences.
Subway

Some do interact with the work: step on it or take pics. (My spot light helped a lot) It really surprised me, I wasn’t expecting audience since the subway is a fast-paced place.

Trace has a lot of forms.

Outside Gallery

I think is fun to create an art installation that is designed for people to interact.

This is a shopping area with a gallery, so people around here are expecting to see an artwork in this public place – but there hasn’t been anything new for a long time. I put soft clay on a picture frame, without pulling the isolation bets out, and a ‘welcome touch’ sign. It did attract people’s attention: kids, young teens, adults, parents, and grandparents.

Then security guy told me to leave, I feel guilty on disturb the social order)
Marks
There is a legal sculpture nearby)

Community Plaza

The kids do love it (not only kids).

I made a shelf by paper box to put bubble guns and a ‘play area’ sign to indicate it is welcome to play with. I personally believe the bubble they leave, the figure when they play with each other holding bubble guns, and the empty shelf are the marks they left here.
